The Community Foundation of San Carlos was established in 2019 for the benefit of of those who live, work, learn, and play in San Carlos.
Our mission is to build a warm, diverse, welcoming community committed to celebrating, lifting up and engaging the beautiful diversity of our evolving community.
How do we do this?
We provide financial support to local nonprofits serving the community.
We bring people together to celebrate our diversity, to learn about and discuss issues facing us, and to improve the public spaces where we gather.
Since 2019, in partnership with the generosity of local residents, business owners, private foundations, and government agencies, we have raised nearly $950,000. In that same time span, we have supported over 50 local nonprofits with over $790,000 in operational and project specific grants. In 2020 and early 2021, the grants went out mostly as COVID relief (e.g., food, housing, protective equipment for frontline workers, etc.). Starting in the Fall of 2021 our grants have gone to support smaller organizations that are either just getting started or who don’t have the ability to raise a lot of funds on their own.
To continue to do this, we need your help. Together, we can deepen the impact of our work, expand our local collaborations, and remain in a strong position for any future challenges we may face.
