Mother’s Day is Sunday, and Father’s Day is coming soon. Wondering what to do for a gift?
Why not take this opportunity to parent some seedlings? Whether you’re a child, a parent, or both, you can become a seedling foster parent with little effort. Help Each Green Corner raise seeds that will one day fill their gardens! All of the seedlings will be used to grow produce for their senior, low-income, and school Garden Steward sites, with all excess produce going to needy families here in our community.
How It Works
We’ll provide foster parents small containers with pre-planted seeds, perfect for placement in a sunny windowsill or patio. Or, you can buy your own seeds if & supplies to contribute, and we’ll provide directions.
You provide water, sun, and TLC (tender loving care). Maybe a song or friendly conversation or two if you believe that helps with growth.
Gardening newbie? No problem! We’ll give you an instruction card detailing what seeds you have and how to care for them.
Time Commitment: 4-6 weeks, depending on the seed variety
Conclusion: You give us the plants ready for the gardens which will generate excess healthy food for local families in need at the end and can feel good about making the plant greener and some neighbors healthier and less hungry.
