  • Provides monthly food benefits to individuals and families with low-income

  • Helps people buy nutritious foods for a better diet, stretching food budgets, and allowing individuals and families to afford nutritious food, including more fruit, vegetables and other healthy foods

  • Benefits depend on household size, countable income, and monthly expenses, such as housing and utilities

  • Benefits paid monthly on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card

  • Usable for food purchases at any grocery store or farmers market that accepts EBT cards

  • US Citizen who meets other program guidelines

Legal immigrant, non-citizens who meet one of these may qualify:

  • lived legally in the US for 5 years or more

  • gets disability related assistance or benefits, no matter when U.S. was entered

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

This program provides food and nutrition help at no cost. If you need emergency food assistance, have. limited income, and meet the program guidelines, you can pick up the food from your local food pantries or soup kitchens. Available foods vary but typically include canned fruits and vegetables, meat, chicken, fish, dried beans, pasta, rice, peanut butter, and more.
