Honor her memory with your contribution

Charmaine Hope

July 9, 1953 - September 3, 2020

Our beloved Charmaine Hope passed away on September 3, 2020 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. She had a truly fulfilling life, between her earlier years in Hong Kong and subsequently in the States.  She loved traveling and swimming in the ocean in Hawaii.  She had a fascination with wildlife. She took pleasure in painting and salsa dancing.  She enjoyed going out to eat delicious food and socializing with everyone around her.  Needless to say, she was a classy lady who was loved by many.

Charmaine was very involved in her local community.  For 14 years, she served as the Director of the Belmont Chamber of Commerce, and later a Manager at the San Carlos Chamber of Commerce, where she worked with over 50 local businesses to ensure their success.  She planned many community events including the Belmont and San Carlos Art and Wine Festivals, and the San Carlos Farmers Market. She cared deeply about forming relationships with business owners, restaurant servers and chefs, and other service workers, meticulously writing down notes and names in her phone so she wouldn’t forget.

We are certain that Charmaine would want her community to continue flourishing.  Therefore, we are partnering with the Community Foundation of San Carlos to honor her life and her passion for community building, development, and engagement.  These funds will be used to provide grants to local nonprofit organizations that provide meals to those in need, create murals around the city, art and dance programs for youth, and ecology programs to keep the local wildlife safe.  Please donate any amount of your choosing to honor Charmaine’s life and support the causes she cared about the most.
