Workshop: Meditation in the African American Center

  • San Francisco Public Library (African American Center Exhibit Space - 3rd Fl) 100 Larkin Street San Francisco, CA, 94102 United States (map)

Take a break and build a practice of wakefulness and tranquility here in the African American Center with Disability rights activist and contributor to the Netflix documentary, Crip Camp, Dennis Billups. There is time for questions (optional) after the meditation session. This is a secular approach to an old tradition. Appropriate for people of all faiths including atheists. This is a partnership between the African American Center and Talking Books and Braille Center at the Main San Francisco Public Library. More info here.

The first meditation on 02/02/22 will be live streamed. Only Dennis will be filmed. No attendees will be filmed.

Dennis Billups is a blind disability rights and gentrification activist. He was Chief Morale Officer in the 504 disability rights sit-in of 1977 and contributed to the Netflix documentary, Crip Camp, co-produced by Barack Obama.
