Day 6: Race & Equity
As a reminder, days 1 through 5 were focused on personal reflection. For the next 11 days, we will be shifting your focus to a broader view of racial equity and social justice by contextualizing the institutional and systemic factors of racism and other marginalization of peoples. The reflection questions still focus on you, the individual, and how you operate within the broader context.
The Center for Social Inclusion defines racial equity as an outcome and a process. We are striving toward the outcome of everyone having what they need to thrive, regardless of their race or where they live. The process of equity requires breaking down beliefs, systems, policies, and practices that support systemic racism and racial inequity.
