UAH Week 2024: Upstander Training (High School)
“If you see something, do something!”
Huge thank you for our co-sponsors, Parks & Recreation Foundation of San Carlos!
We all want our kids to stand up for what’s right. And it’s right to take a stand when they hear someone being bullied, belittled, or are witness to unkind behavior. As parents and adults we can model kindness and civil discourse, but what happens when your student encounters a bully? These Upstander workshops will address this issue, teaching our youth how to recognize bullies and how to respond as Upstanders.
The Workshops will be held at the Youth Center’s Dance Studio and be facilitated by staff from OneLife. We will provide snacks for the Middle School students and dinner for the High School students. After the workshops, we invite students to stay to create a collaborative art project, which will be displayed at the Youth Center.
This is a program supported by the Community Foundation of San Carlos in partnership with the Parks & Recreation Foundation. The Foundation’s motto is to serve everyone who “lives, works, or plays in San Carlos.”
Participants need not be a resident of the city to participate in this event. All are welcome!
