COVID-19 Response Grants
The Community Foundation of San Carlos has established the San Carlos COVID-19 Response Fund to provide grants for nonprofits meeting the critical needs of San Carlos community members during the Coronavirus pandemic. All nonprofits who are serving San Carlos community members during this time of need are strongly encouraged to apply. Download Grant Guidelines
The Foundation has committed $50,000 to the Fund and will continue to solicit additional resources from generous donors.
Eligibility
Organizations must be a 501(c)(3) or other nonprofit entity serving those who live, work, learn or play in San Carlos to be eligible for funding. Organizations’ services must be open to people of all ethnicities, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations and other protected classes. If a for-profit organization is serving members of the San Carlos community who are adversely impacted by COVID-19, they should inquire about grants at grants@sancarloscf.org .
Criteria
Grants will be awarded to nonprofits who are assisting members of the San Carlos community with critical needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding will support nonprofits providing services to meet immediate as well as ongoing needs including (but not limited to): food, housing, healthcare, mental health services, services for seniors, childcare, education, digital access, transportation, and other services that promote well-being.
Selection Process
Grants will be made on a rolling basis focusing on the most urgent needs of the San Carlos community and potential impact by a qualifying non-profit. Proposals will be reviewed and decided by a COVID-19 Grants Committee and approved by a vote of the Board of the Community Foundation of San Carlos every 2-3 weeks until funds are depleted.
Application Evaluation Criteria
Applications are evaluated against the following criteria:
San Carlos: The organization serves those who live, learn, work, and play in San Carlos.
Critical Needs: The organization’s services address the critical and ongoing needs of community members during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Impact: The anticipated benefit of the organization and its services to the San Carlos community relative to proposed grant amount.
Urgency: The organization needs funding immediately to provide critical services and/or to survive through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grant Awards
Grant awards will be based on needs expressed up to $10,000 per grant.
Application Submission and Review
This application will remain open as we work through this crisis together. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis and grants awarded until funds are depleted. The fourth round deadline is October 7. Applicants will be notified the following week with Grant agreements or regrets. Funds will be disbursed following the receipt of the signed grant agreement.
